key responsibilities
- Leading and supervising a dedicated team of approximately 15 warehouse professionals, including orderpickers and reception staff.
- Assigning team members to specific tasks to ensure the most efficient workflow and timely processing of volumes.
- Stepping in to support operational tasks whenever necessary to maintain continuity.
- Monitoring and ensuring strict adherence to all safety and quality protocols across the site.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for resolving team challenges and fostering a positive, collaborative atmosphere.
- Taking ownership of the team's performance by meeting productivity and quality targets.
- Conducting regular team board meetings and one-on-one check-ins to maintain high engagement levels.
- Collaborating closely with the Team Leader to identify and implement continuous improvements in daily operations.
qualifications
- You have solid experience within the logistics sector, ideally in a retail environment handling perishable goods.
- Working in a cold storage environment (1°C to 4°C) is a setting where you feel comfortable and productive.
- You possess strong leadership and organizational skills, with a proven ability to stay composed and effective under pressure.
- You are a clear and motivating communicator, capable of engaging a diverse team during meetings and individual coaching sessions.
- Flexibility is key for you; you are ready to work in a rotating shift system (early, late, and night shifts) and are available for weekend work.
- Fluency in English is essential for this role. Proficiency in Dutch or French is considered a valuable asset.
