We are currently seeking expressions of interest from motivated accounting professionals for upcoming Management Accountant vacancies. Most of our client roles are based in the Wellington CBD and offer an excellent pathway for those looking to advance their careers in commercial or public sector finance.
These positions are ideal for individuals who are nearly or recently CA/CPA qualified and are looking to transition from Audit/BAS or step up from an Assistant Accountant role.
Key Responsibilities
In these roles, you will move beyond transactional processing to provide critical support to cost centre and budget managers. Primary duties typically include:
Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborating with managers to develop annual budgets and maintain accurate rolling forecasts.
Variance Analysis: Investigating discrepancies between actual spend and budget, providing clear explanations for deviations.
Month-End Tasks: Managing the core financial cycle, including the processing of journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Ad-hoc Analysis: Providing data-driven insights and financial reports to support various internal projects and decision-making.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates who possess a strong technical foundation and the communication skills required to support non-finance stakeholders.
Professional Status: Recently CA/CPA qualified, or in the final stages of your CA/CPA journey.
Experience: Currently working in Audit or BAS and seeking your first internal role, or an Assistant Accountant ready for a more senior remit.
Work Rights: Must hold valid New Zealand Work Rights.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software/ERPs.
Location: Ability to work in the Wellington CBD.
