In this Material Handler role, you will safely operate a sit-down counterbalance forklift to move both single and double loads throughout the facility. As a Material Handler, you will perform essential duties such as loading and unloading incoming and outgoing shipments, staging pallets and skids of new product, and transferring raw materials to designated production areas. Safety and accuracy are paramount, which is why the Material Handler conducts thorough pre-shift forklift inspections to verify that machinery is operating in prime condition. Working with visual work instructions, clear communication, and collaborative problem-solving will be critical to your day-to-day success.

Responsibilities
• Safely operate a sit-down counterbalance forklift to move single and double loads across the manufacturing facility.
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight shipments efficiently and accurately.
• Move pallets, skids, new products, and raw materials to designated storage and production areas.
• Conduct pre-shift forklift inspections to ensure equipment and machinery are in good working condition.
• Follow visual work instructions precise to daily operational and inventory requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with production staff, supervisors, and logistics personnel to maintain smooth material flow.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in compliance with facility safety standards.

Qualifications
• Valid forklift certification (sit-down counterbalance specialization).
• Clear criminal background check prior to placement.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is a MUST.
• Proven experience utilizing visual work instructions to perform and complete tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse team members and cross-functional staff.
• Solid problem-solving abilities and aptitude for technical, fast-paced work environments.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Strong proficiency in sit-down counterbalance forklift operation and material handling techniques.
• Ability to interpret and execute tasks based on visual work instructions and operational guidelines.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address workflow bottlenecks or inventory placement challenges.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills to interact seamlessly with team members.
