About the Role

As a Mechanical Development Engineer at Philips, you will leverage your mechanical engineering expertise to model, design, implement, integrate, and test some of the world’s most innovative healthcare products and manufacturing systems. You will work within the Product and System Engineering department, contributing to solutions that make a real impact in healthcare.

What You’ll Do

Translate conceptual designs into detailed mechanical solutions under the guidance of a senior technical lead.
Participate in multi-disciplinary, cross-functional projects that are complex and long-term, often divided into sub-projects for subsystem development.
Collaborate with experts in related fields such as dynamics, thermal, electronics, and software.
Work as part of internal and external mechanical design teams, closely aligning with the lead mechanical engineer and/or project manager.
Maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure effective communication and project success.
Create technical product documentation, including service manuals, assembly instructions, and Bills of Materials.

Mechanical Development Engineer
skills
- Education: BSc or MSc in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in innovative product development, preferably in medical devices or imaging systems.
- Strong ability to convert global concepts into detailed designs suitable for scale-up and volume production.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (preferably Creo or NX Unigraphics) and MS Office.
- Familiarity with Windchill PDLM and TeamCenter is a plus.
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and analytical skills, with a mechatronics background integrating mechanics, dynamics & control, thermal behavior, materials, and metrology.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (IEC-60601, ISO13485, FDA) and design controls, risk management, and quality testing.
