About the Role: Modern Foreign Language Teacher
You will be an integral part of our MFL team, responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5. This role requires subject mastery, innovative teaching techniques, and a genuine drive to motivate students to achieve linguistic proficiency and cultural literacy.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Design and execute creative, high-impact MFL lessons that foster strong progress in speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Rigorously assess and track student attainment, using data effectively to differentiate instruction and inform future planning.
- Lead by example in the classroom, maintaining an energetic, respectful, and aspirational learning environment.
- Collaborate closely with department colleagues on curriculum development, resource creation, and moderation to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Prepare students thoroughly for external examinations (e.g., GCSE and A-Level), employing effective revision strategies and exam technique coaching.
- Organise and lead engaging extra-curricular activities related to languages and culture, such as language clubs, film screenings, or study tours.
- Undertake duties as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care, academic guidance, and promoting the school's values to a specific group of students.
- Engage proactively in whole-school initiatives and continuous professional development (CPD).
What We're Looking For in an MFL Teacher

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in at least one modern foreign language.
- Demonstrated success in driving attainment and student engagement in MFL at the secondary level.
- Proficiency in using a communicative approach to language teaching, prioritising spontaneous and real-world language use.
- Excellent organisational and classroom management skills with a focus on maximising student speaking time.
- The ability to effectively integrate technology (e.g., language learning software, authentic media) into daily teaching.
- A proactive team player who is willing to share best practice and contribute positively to departmental strategy.
- A commitment to creating a globally aware and culturally sensitive learning environment.
