The Role
A fantastic opportunity is available for a proactive and experienced Maths Teacher to join a dedicated department in a school located in the Cambridge area.
This role is specifically designed for a teacher seeking a structured part-time timetable, working mornings only (8:30 AM - 1:00 PM). You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective Maths lessons up to Key Stage 4 (GCSE) level. This role is crucial for ensuring continuity and high standards of attainment in the core subject area for the first half of the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, inspiring Mathematics lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, focusing on curriculum coverage and attainment within the morning period.
- Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback on student work promptly, ensuring progress tracking is up-to-date and informs future planning.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive and focused learning environment that encourages participation and mathematical curiosity.
- Contribute fully to departmental meetings, planning sessions, and communication relevant to the morning teaching period.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and any intervention strategies implemented.
- Foster a love for Maths and encourage students to achieve their personal best, regardless of their starting point.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential, along with a degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
- Proven experience teaching Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain complex mathematical concepts clearly and engagingly.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maximise learning within a condensed timetable.
- A highly organised, reliable, and professional approach, with a commitment to maintaining high educational standards.
- A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one promptly).
