Key Responsibilities
- Field Trial Support: Prepare, sow, and maintain research trial sites both on-site and at various off-site locations.
- Technical Seed Work: Assist with seed preparation, including cleaning, counting, weighing, and viability testing.
- Crop Protection: Monitor trials for insect pests and weeds, implementing necessary control measures as required.
- Data Collection: Capture phenotyping data and enter results into research software to help drive project outcomes.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain mechanical plot equipment used for sowing and harvesting trials.
- Precision Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate daily logs of all activities and experimental work in a professional notebook.
Requirements
- Agricultural Knowledge: Technical understanding of agricultural operations, pasture agronomy, or seed production is highly regarded.
- Technical Mindset: Ability to handle routine, repetitive tasks with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- License & Transport: Must possess a current driver’s license and be willing to drive to various sites.
- Certifications: Possession of a Chemcert certificate is preferred, or a willingness to obtain one for pesticide application.
- Availability: Willingness to work occasional out-of-hours shifts if required by the research schedule.

- Location: Adelaide's Southern Suburbs area.
- Contract: 6-month casual contract.
- Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday.
- Pay Rate: $41 per hour.
