Responsibilities
- Processing bi-weekly salaried and hourly full-cycle payroll for all employees in an accurate and timely manner.
- Administer and maintain employee benefits programs, including extended health, dental, and retirement savings plans.
- Calculating, verifying, and processing statutory deductions, garnishments, and remittances to CRA, WCB, and other government agencies.
- Process new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and taxable benefits with a high degree of accuracy.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and leave management.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for all employee questions regarding payroll, compensation, and benefits, providing clear and helpful responses.
- Manage the year-end process, including the preparation and filing of T4s and other required statutory returns.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in accounting
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and high-volume data entry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office application and payroll software (ADP, QuickBooks, Payworks or similar)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex payroll discrepancies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits information clearly to employees.
