Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll professional to provide critical operational support, commencing 16/03/2026. This role has been created to backfill a key team member currently dedicated to essential system testing and project work. Due to upcoming legislative milestones, including preparations for Payday Superannuation implementation, there is a strong possibility of extension for the right candidate.
... About the Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will ensure the seamless execution of end-to-end payroll processes within a high-standards compliance environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and administering all payroll aspects related to complex employee transitions and lifecycle changes, with a primary focus on end-to-end termination processing.
- Applying expert knowledge to accurately calculate complex final entitlements and settlement figures, ensuring strict associated regulatory and tax compliance.
- Processing regular salary increments and maintaining the integrity of employee master data.
- Executing tax changes and coding in alignment with ATO and STP Phase 2 requirements.
- Performing core payroll functions and reconciliations to support the team during a high-activity project phase.
About You
- Proven experience in a Payroll Officer, Senior Payroll Officer or SME capacity, ideally within a large-scale or complex organizational structure.
- Technical proficiency in Ascender is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated capability in managing complex terminations and manual adjustment calculations.
- A proactive approach to Award interpretation and a solid understanding of current compliance frameworks.
- The ability to hit the ground running and maintain "zero tolerance" for data inaccuracies during a transitional period.
