Responsibilities
• Work in a safe and responsible manner
• Ensure understanding and compliance to the critical safety, environmental and quality working systems
• Initiate and oversee projects that have been identified as required by operations
• Oversee employees and contractors as required, to ensure safety and quality requirements are met
• Assist with operations and maintenance troubleshooting
• Provide input and recommendations of safe systems of work and manage identified hazards throughout the area
• Conduct risk assessments when appropriate and implement actions to properly manage identified risks before proceeding with work
• Communicates technical learning’s and process changes with different teams
Qualifications
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Professional Engineering Designation registered with APEGA
• 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience
• Experience working in a heavy industrial environment
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to manage a number of projects and priorities to a timeline and budget, while realizing project benefits
• Eager to learn and take on new challenges
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated responsible attitude towards safety
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills
