About the role:
As a Plastic Design Engineer, you will lead the development of high-precision plastic consumables and mechanical components, taking innovative liquid handling tools from early ideation through to series production.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Design of individual parts and assemblies and their implementation, from conception to production launch
- Development of mechanical plastic solutions for our liquid handling products, especially consumables, and their integration into overall systems – with a focus on injection molding.
- Planning, design and development of plastic articles from ideation to series production, as well as support for device development in material, plastics, tooling and manufacturing technology issues.
- Structure and maintenance of the plastic construction Knowledge and material database
- Creating manufacturing documents for drawings, parts lists and assembly instructions.
- Purchasing and material procurement for functional models and prototypes
- Coordination with internal and external customers, suppliers and service providers
Requirements:
- Education: Technical studies (University of Applied Sciences / Fachhochschule) or Certified Technician in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on plastics technology, OR completed vocational training (draftsman/designer/mechanic) with extensive practical experience.
- Experience as a development engineer in the field of plastics
- Initial experience in the development of injection-molded parts and tool design
- Good CAD skills, ideally with SolidWorks
- Languages: German (C1) and English (B2–C1) required
- Hands-on mentality with enthusiasm for creative solutions and innovative products
