About the Role
We are partnering with a large Queensland Government department to recruit multiple Engineers across various seniority levels (PO3 - PO5) to join the Preservation & Maintenance team. The team is responsible for maintaining and protecting infrastructure assets while enhancing and improving safety through delivery of maintenance, rehabilitation and various safety projects.

PO5 Principal Engineer - RPEQ Mandatory
- Provide reports on the progress of works and actual and forecast expenditure.
- Act as "Representative of the Principal" for the delivery of contracts as defined and delegated at respective project phases.
- Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are identified and addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
- Manage the calling and assessment of tenders and the contract awarding process for construction projects in the Region's Roads Implementation Program.
- Provide high level engineering advice and input into planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved.
- The role is also required to assist graduates, other engineers and technical staff to resolve technical issues on projects and mentor them to deliver programs on time and to budget.
PO4 Senior Engineer - RPEQ Mandatory
- Act as a Project Manager, as well as Contract Administrator to ensure that quality and value for money for the department has been achieved. The position will need the ability to quickly acquire knowledge and understanding of policies and legislation for engagement of consultants and contractors, and the forms of contract used for this purposes.
- Manage, assist, deliver and co-ordinate the delivery of Pre-construction activities to the region on time and to budget. This includes managing preliminary investigations such as survey and geotechnical, all land resumption requirements, all design tender actions and manage concept design through to detail design and the tender process.
- Assist graduates, other engineers, and technical staff to resolve technical issues on their projects and mentor them to deliver programs on time and to budget.
- Provide agreed customer service by attending to all public enquiries (which requires technical input) through appropriate channel and in a timely manner.
- Assess construction tenders and manage procurement phase
PO3 Engineer
- Under supervision, project manage the delivery of road infrastructure projects through the administration of contracts and provision of technical expertise and support to the design, construction, and maintenance processes.
- Determine appropriate bridge and road maintenance procedures, work instructions and manage road and bridge maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the selection of the most suitable contract process for project delivery, then administer the contract to ensure compliance and successful delivery
- Calculate quantities of component materials, analyse test results for materials, identify non-conformances, determine the controls needed during construction, and conduct and manage risk assessment
About You
- Experience in civil infrastructure, road construction, maintenance or rehabilitation.
- Strong project management, contract administration and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Bachelor of Engineering
- Valid Drivers licence
