Randstad is proud to partner with a key State Government client to recruit a highly talented Senior Environmental Officer. As part of the team which focuses on environmental referrals, design reviews, and site investigations necessary to move this landmark program forward. The successful candidate will join the team responsible for driving this project forward through essential environmental referrals, design reviews, and site investigations.
The Role:
As part of the project team, you will provide high-level strategic and technical environmental guidance to ensure infrastructure sustainability is at the core of the project's delivery.
- Delivering high-level advice on obligations under the EPBC Act 1999 and all relevant State environmental legislation.
- Driving the delivery of Commonwealth and State approvals and managing the acquisition of environmental offsets and project land.
- Reviewing project designs, environmental surveys, spatial data, and Public Environment Reports (PER).
- Developing Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), identifying problem areas, and negotiating design modifications to manage environmental risks.
- Representing the project on working groups and steering committees, and maintaining effective communication with State and Local Government agencies.
- Providing high-level written advice, ministerial correspondence, and briefing notes for the Regional Director.
Skills & Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced environmental professional who can navigate complex legislative landscapes while maintaining a practical approach to project delivery.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or Natural Resource Management.
- C Class Drivers Licence
