About the Client Our client is a prominent government organisation dedicated to serving a large, diverse community. We are currently seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join their Business & Innovation branch. This division optimises business opportunities and delivers value through sound procurement and contracting practices.
About the Role As a Procurement Specialist, you will develop and implement procurement strategies for effective contractual formation. Operating within established legislative, policy, governance, and probity frameworks, your primary focus will be maximising contract performance and value.
Key Responsibilities
... - Lead procurement activities from planning through to contract formation to secure goods, services, and works across a broad range of categories for medium to high-value contracts.
- Partner with stakeholders to achieve optimal procurement contract delivery within legislative, policy, governance, and probity frameworks.
- Develop procurement documentation suites, take to market, manage and respond to RFIs, chair tender moderation meetings, clarify submission content, and prepare recommendations to award based on the evaluation process.
- Coordinate the development, negotiation, and finalisation of contracts, which includes engaging specialist contract or legal advice at appropriate points to deliver high-quality contracts.
- Develop key performance indicators and quality assurance assessments for inclusion in organisational contracts.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, respondents, contractors, and staff to ensure procurement processes are responsive to current and future needs.
- Provide training, support, and guidance to internal officers in undertaking procurement and contracting activities.
About You
- A demonstrated history working within a government or similar complex organisation as a Procurement Specialist.
- Proven ability to research, develop, and evaluate alternate means of delivery for goods, services, and works, providing sound recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills to undertake relevant market sounding, research, and analysis to inform procurement activities.
- A comprehensive understanding of government procurement and contracting frameworks, alongside strict adherence to probity and governance requirements.
