The Role: The Bridge Between 3D Models & Physical Structures
Since 1966, our client has set the benchmark for heavy engineering and fabrication. They don’t just build structures, they deliver precision-engineered solutions. We are looking for a Production Engineer / Coordinator who lives and breathes steel, someone who understands that a project’s success is won or lost in the coordination between the drawing office, the workshop floor, and the site.
This is not an entry-level role for graduates. We need a mid-level professional who speaks the language of fabricators and understands the high stakes of structural integrity.
Your Technical Impact
Blueprint-to-Build Mastery: Manage the flow of IFC (Issued for Construction) packages and shop drawings. You’ll be the "technical gatekeeper," ensuring the workshop has the exact documentation, RFI clarity, and 3D model data needed to strike an arc.
Production Phasing: Take ownership of work packages. You’ll assist with batch phasing and job staging, ensuring the fabrication schedule is optimized for both the workshop capacity and site deadlines.
Critical Procurement: You aren't just ordering parts; you’re managing project-critical supplies—from processed plates and purlins to high-strength bolting assemblies—ensuring Mill Certs and traceability are 100% compliant.
Project Pulse & Compliance: Proactively monitor timelines and support the management team with Variations (VOs). You’ll ensure the project remains on track, on budget, and up to standard.
The Non-Negotiables
If you don't know your way around a fabrication floor, this isn't the role for you. We are looking for:
Steel Industry DNA: 1–3 years of practical, hands-on experience in a Steel Fabrication & Welding environment.
Code Fluency: A rock-solid understanding of AS1554 (Welding of Steel Structures) and AS5131 (Fabrication & Erection of Structural Steel). You understand the implications of Construction Categories (CC2/CC3).
Technical Literacy: You can read complex shop drawings and structural designs better than most people read the news.
Software Proficiency: Expert level MS Office is a must. If you’ve used Aconex, Procore, or ERP systems specific to fabrication, you’ll have a significant head start.
Why Join the Team?
Market Leaders: Work with a long-standing outfit that values safety, quality management, and professional behavior.
Evolution: This is a high-performance environment where your technical input is valued, and additional training is provided to keep you at the top of the industry.
Stability: A massive pipeline of work with a company that hasn't slowed down in over 50 years.
How to Apply
If you have the "steel-first" mindset and the technical background to match, hit APPLY now.
Note to Applicants: We appreciate the interest from recent graduates; however, practical experience in a fabrication environment is a mandatory requirement for this specific position.
