About the Opportunity

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a proven Project Engineer to join one of South East Queensland’s premier Tier 2 builders. Recognized for delivering high-end, iconic developments and backed by an enviable project pipeline, this mid-tier powerhouse combines the commercial stability of a top-tier firm with the agility, site autonomy, and close-knit culture of a mid-tier leader.

You will be embedded on-site on a flagship 25+ storey luxury residential tower on the Gold Coast. Featuring high-end architectural design, complex structural/civil packages, multi-level basement retention, and premium finishes, this landmark build requires a sharp, detailed, and ambitious Project Engineer to drive package delivery from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will take full ownership of key structural, services, or architectural fitout packages, ensuring quality, program, and financial milestones are met.

• Package Management: Lead procurement, scope preparation, tender evaluations, and award of major trade packages (structures, façade, services, or high-end fitout).
• Design & Constructability: Review consultant drawings, resolve constructability issues, drive Value Engineering (VE), and interface with design consultants to eliminate site delays.
• Programming & Progress: Monitor contractor performance against the master construction program, managing short-term look-aheads and site scheduling alongside the Site Manager.
• Commercial & Financial Control: Administer variations, progress claims, RFIs, and scopes of work while working closely with the Commercial team.
• Quality Assurance (QA) & Handover: Implement rigorous QA inspections to meet luxury residential finishing standards, managing defect rectification and final commissioning.
• Safety & Compliance: Drive a strong safety culture on-site, ensuring strict compliance with Australian Standards, National Construction Code (NCC), and local authority requirements.

About You

To excel in this role, you will bring strong technical acumen, high attention to detail, and a track record of driving high-rise deliverables under fast-paced site conditions.

• Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 3 to 6+ years of local construction experience in Australia, with demonstrated project history on multi-storey residential or commercial developments (experience on 15+ storeys preferred).
• Technical Mastery: Solid understanding of structural systems, concrete frames, post-tensioning, building services, and high-end residential fitout standards.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, Aconex, Procore, or similar industry-standard project management software.
• Local Knowledge: Strong understanding of SEQ subcontractor networks and Australian Standards/BCA compliance.
• Soft Skills: Highly organized, proactive problem solver, with exceptional communication skills to manage subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives effectively.
