About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to strategically oversee multiple high-profile capital works programs. In this dynamic contract role, you will drive project planning, monitor budgets, track delivery milestones, and ensure rigorous data accuracy across all program lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Project Management: Coordinate and manage all phases of site-based capital programs and maintenance initiatives from planning through to delivery.
- Cost & Scope Monitoring: Prepare detailed proposals using standardized formats, monitor project expenditure against agreed budgets, and track overall progress.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify project blockers, develop robust risk mitigation strategies, and manage high-risk contracts to guarantee compliance and operational efficiency.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong networks across internal and external stakeholder groups, delivering clear, high-level communications and progress reports to executive leadership and governance committees.
- Data Integrity: Manage enterprise system data (Ellipse) to ensure accurate cashflow forecasting, program scheduling, and reporting.
- Resource Optimization: Balance competing priorities simultaneously, utilizing systems and processes efficiently to achieve key milestones.
Mandatory Requirements
- Clearances: Ability to successfully pass national police checks required for working in secure custodial environments.
- Mobility: Valid C Class Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel/work at various secure facility sites across South East Queensland at least 3 days per week.
- Contract Management: Demonstrated experience managing high-risk contracts while maintaining facility reliability, safety, and strict compliance.
- Current Australian working rights: Evidence of this will be required as part of the application process.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience managing capital projects and maintenance programs within correctional or high-security facilities.
- Strong background in building, construction, or public sector facilities management.
- Advanced proficiency in enterprise business tools for project tracking and financial forecasting (Ellipse experience is highly regarded).
It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives of ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.
