Role Overview:
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for successfully delivering projects from pre-construction through to defect liability and handover. You will ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with building specifications, standards, and specific contractual requirements. Key responsibilities include managing tender interviews, subcontractor negotiations, implementing project delivery systems, and managing WHS&E responsibilities for the project(s). Additionally, you will manage the financial responsibility of the project, generate construction programs, and ensure projects are delivered to the highest standard of client satisfaction and quality.
Ideal Experience:
- Experience working for a principal contractor in a similar role
- Strong financial acumen and communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Excellent ability to lead and motivate people and manage and develop performance
- Strong understanding of project management within the building and construction industry.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Construction or building-related degree or diploma
- Understanding of specifications and drawings for accuracy and build ability
- Excellent knowledge of WHS&E principles
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Great time management
- Possess confidence to deal with strong personalities and diverse situations, particularly on work sites
- Very strong leadership and able to provide mentoring to all project staff
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Organised and efficient
- High levels of flexibility and ability to manage under pressure.
