As a Senior Contract Administrator/Contracts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the effective planning, organisation, and management of construction projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Construction Director, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your key responsibilities will include managing project finances, maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders, and overseeing contractual and financial aspects of agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, manage, and issue tender packages for all major and minor trades.
- Review project trade budgets, drawings, and scope of works for all trades.
- Negotiate with subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and establish strong relationships.
- Categorise and resolve variations in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract conditions.
- Prepare and submit progress claims and cash flow reports in accordance with client requirements.
- Respond to claims in accordance with relevant legislation and manage subcontractor invoices.
- Assist with document control, shop drawing approvals, RFIs, and sample approvals.
- Assist Project Manager with programming works and procurement scheduling.
- Implement and manage project finalisation plan, including handover documentation for practical completion
- Maintain financial records and manage cost reporting using Cheops software.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Proven experience in contract administration within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction documentation, contract management, and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and be confident managing and mentoring more junior staff.
- Proficiency in construction management software including Cheops, Aconex, and MS Office suite - training will be provided.
