About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in electrical installations, switchboard/MCC integration, or utility infrastructure?
We are a leading electrical engineering specialist delivering critical infrastructure projects across the water, wastewater, energy, and industrial sectors.
...
We are seeking a Project Manager to take end-to-end ownership of major site-based electrical installations, low-voltage infrastructure upgrades, and associated control system integrations.
This role is ideal for a delivery-focused leader who excels at managing site installation crews, subcontractors, and complex operational cutovers in live utility environments (Water infrastructure / Treatment plants / Pump station).
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Installation Management: Oversee full site-based electrical installation works—including LV power distribution, switchboard/Motor Control Centre (MCC) replacements, cabling, instrumentation, and site infrastructure upgrades.
Full-Lifecycle Project Delivery: Drive projects from initial design and procurement through FAT/SAT testing, site construction, energisation, commissioning, and final operational handover.
Site & Operational Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary site teams, electrical trades, and subcontractors within live, high-risk operational environments where safety, reliability, and strict shutdown schedules are paramount.
Technical & Quality Compliance: Ensure all works comply strictly with AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules), AS/NZS 61439, and relevant utility safety, quality, and environmental standards (HSEQ).
Commercial & Client Delivery: Manage project budgets, variations, schedules, and supply chain procurement, acting as the primary point of contact for clients and asset owners.
About You
Experience: Managing complex electrical installation and infrastructure projects.
Technical Background: Deep experience in low-voltage electrical distribution, switchboards/MCCs, site wiring, and field instrumentation (experience with interfacing SCADA/PLC systems is highly regarded).
Site Execution: Proven track record leading live operational cutovers, brownfield upgrades, and shutdown-constrained installation work on utility or industrial sites.
Safety First Mindset: Strong commitment to HSEQ compliance, risk management, and safe working methodologies (SWMS/LOTOs) on physical job sites.
Qualifications: Electrical Trade qualification (A-Grade) or Degree in Electrical Engineering. Formal Project Management certification (PMP/Prince2) is advantageous.
