Quality Officer Location: Townsville
The Opportunity We are seeking a dedicated Quality Officer to join our Townsville manufacturing team. Supporting the Quality Manager, you will ensure our products meet stringent compliance and customer standards. You will champion quality on the production floor, balancing rigorous testing with operational efficiency, and actively driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality & Testing: Conduct routine concrete testing, quality checks, and detailed visual inspections of cast products. Identify defects, manage the non-conformance process, and apply QA stamps to release compliant products prior to dispatch.
- Documentation: Accurately produce, collate, and submit critical compliance documentation. Maintain unit tracking sheets and enter data (field sheets, crack maps, cover checks) into the quality database.
- Safety & Environment: Champion workplace safety by strictly adhering to the Safety, Health, and Environment Management System. Participate in hazard identification and strictly follow lockout and permit-to-work processes.
- Leadership & Operations: Exercise the authority to halt production for any safety or quality concerns. Recommend long-term preventative actions and process changes to improve outcomes, and collaborate directly with production teams and customers.
About You
- Proven experience in a quality control or assurance role, with strong knowledge of QA processes and testing protocols.
- Proficient in Google Sheets; experience with laboratory reporting programs (e.g., Testlab 360) is highly advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to diverse stakeholders.
- Resilience and adaptability to firmly uphold strict quality requirements alongside production pressures.
