Responsibilities
Case Investigation: Conduct thorough analysis of transactional activity to identify risks, trends, and potential suspicious activity; determine if further investigation or escalation is required.
Risk Management: Protect the organization’s interests by identifying non-standard or high-risk transactions and ensuring they are managed according to regulatory guidelines.
Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a technical resource for AML/ATF and sanctions-related matters, providing operational support and process guidance.
Operational Excellence: Manage complex workflows involving multiple systems and jurisdictions, ensuring high accuracy and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and support the implementation of new workflows or applications.
Compliance: Run and review data against various watchlists and guidelines to ensure accuracy and flag deviations immediately.
Collaboration: Participate in weekly team meetings and maintain a positive, risk-aware culture within a team of 10–15 professionals.
Qualifications
Education: Undergraduate degree preferred.
Experience: 2+ years of professional experience as a Risk Analyst or in a similar investigative role.
Industry Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of AML operations, standards, procedures, and relevant financial laws/regulations.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience navigating complex computer applications/databases.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to research, organize, and prioritize high volumes of data while meeting strict deadlines.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information with high discretion.
Certifications (Asset): CAMS or ACFCS certifications are highly desirable.
Experience (Asset): Prior experience within a large banking or financial institution.
