We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Steward to join our team on a contract basis in Jodagadia, Odisha, India. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of safety protocols within the steel industry and a proven ability to maintain a secure working environment.
Responsibilities:- Implement and enforce all safety regulations and procedures within the steel plant.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
- Document safety observations, incidents, and near misses accurately.
- Create detailed safety reports using tools like JIRA and standard report formats.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards including JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) procedures.
- Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
- Investigate safety incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain safety documentation and records in an organized manner.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the worksite.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of safety initiatives.
- Diploma in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 8 years of experience in a safety role, preferably within the steel industry.
- Proficiency in safety procedures and best practices.
- Strong skills in documentation and report creation.
- Familiarity with JIRA for reporting and tracking.
- Ability to conduct and document Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Excellent observational and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Jodagadia, Odisha, India.
