The Opportunity
This is an exciting opening for a qualified teacher (QTS/ECT) to join a supportive Science department that prides itself on academic excellence and student engagement. You will be teaching General Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach your specialism (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) at Key Stage 5 for the right candidate.

Core Responsibilities
- Dynamic Teaching: Plan and deliver inspiring Science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) that challenge students and encourage critical thinking.
- Practical Learning: Conduct safe and effective practical laboratory sessions that reinforce theoretical knowledge and develop students' investigative skills.
- Curriculum Delivery: Ensure the curriculum is taught effectively across KS3 and KS4, preparing students thoroughly for GCSE examinations.
- Progress Tracking: Use data and assessment to monitor student progress, providing targeted interventions and feedback to close learning gaps.
- Classroom Management: Foster a positive and safe learning environment, effectively managing behaviour and ensuring health and safety protocols are strictly followed during practicals.
- Inspiration: promote the relevance of Science in the wider world, encouraging students to consider STEM pathways for their future careers.
Essential Profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): You must hold QTS or a comparable teaching qualification recognised in the UK.
- Subject Knowledge: A relevant degree in a Science-related discipline, with strong subject knowledge across all three sciences up to GCSE level.
- Curriculum Experience: Proven experience teaching the UK Science curriculum in a secondary school setting.
- Safety Conscious: A solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations within a school laboratory environment.
- Communication: Excellent ability to build rapport with students and explain complex ideas clearly.
- Compliance: Possession of an Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one promptly).
