Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging lessons of varying subjects that meet individual pupil needs.
- Lead the development of a curriculum subject, ensuring it aligns with the National Curriculum and school objectives.
- Support every student to reach their full potential across academic, social, and emotional domains.
- Design and deliver tailored lessons to address each student's unique requirements.
- Foster a productive learning environment by using effective behaviour management techniques and prioritising student welfare.
- Collaborate with the professional team, including external specialists and therapists, to support student growth.
- Monitor student progress thoroughly and generate detailed reports for instructional planning.
- Maintain safeguarding protocols and participate actively in the school community.
You Must Have…
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification.
- Degree or equivalent qualification relevant to teaching.
- Proven experience in a primary or special school setting, ideally with pupils presenting SEMH needs or Autism Spectrum Conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals.
- A resilient, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check.
Ideally You Will Have…
- A track record of recent and pertinent professional growth.
- Competency in managing EHCP documentation and participating in annual review processes.
- Previous experience spearheading a specific area of the curriculum or leading a subject.
- Familiarity with therapeutic methodologies and trauma-informed educational practices.
- Understanding of various strategies to aid pupils with SEMH difficulties.
- Demonstrated ability for mentoring and managing teaching assistants to a high standard.
- Proven ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary professional group.
