About your new role
The Senior Auditor acts as an independent assurance provider to help executive leadership evaluate internal systems, mitigate organisational risks, and maintain operational integrity. The position centres on leading complex internal audits ranging from performance reviews to sensitive covert activity examinations while managing all phases of project delivery, reporting findings directly to senior leaders, and tracking client implementation of recommendations.
Must be an Australian Citizen and obtain/maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance.
What you will need to exceed
... - Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification or substantial experience working in an internal audit environment, alongside demonstrated expertise in conducting comprehensive audits and reviews within a large, complex agency.
- Proven understanding and ability to interpret relevant legislation and governance frameworks.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including a high proficiency in report writing and presenting findings to executive leadership.
- Practical experience in purchasing, procurement planning, contractor evaluation, and managing external contractors for outsourced audit activities in line with government policy and governance standards.
- Strong working knowledge of internal auditing standards, principles, methodologies, and risk management concepts, with the ability to build and execute risk-based audit programs.
- High-level problem-solving abilities to evaluate gathered data, identify key operational issues, research best practices, and formulate innovative solutions.
- Strong project management capabilities to handle complex projects or component reviews with minimal supervision
