We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to take technical ownership of complex mechanical and HVAC projects from concept through to completion, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and help guide the next generation of engineering talent.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the detailed design and delivery of mechanical services (HVAC, ventilation, central plant systems, smoke control, and thermal comfort modeling) across diverse property sectors.
- Act as the primary technical contact for clients, architects, builders, and project managers.
- Oversee site inspections, commissioning reviews, and contractor submittals during construction phases.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate mechanical engineers within the team.
- Assist directors with project fee proposals, resource planning, and client engagement.
About You
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
- 6+ years of local experience within an Australian building services engineering consultancy.
- Strong command of HVAC system design, heat load calculations and relevant Australian Standards.
- Familiarity with Revit (BIM environment) and energy/thermal simulation tools.
- CPEng / NER status or eligibility for Victorian Professional Engineer registration (Building Services) is highly desirable.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to present ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
