About your new role
The core of the role involves partnering with both ICT and non-ICT projects to review complex Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) and using defensible processes to identify and mitigate potential risk events. Additionally, the officer manages the investigation and reporting of privacy complaints and breaches, ensuring the department meets its statutory compliance obligations while liaising with relevant business units on remedial activities
What you will need to exceed
... - Demonstrated experience in undertaking complex PIAs, specifically while working with Information Technology business areas.
- Extensive knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge regarding, Commonwealth and Queensland Privacy legislation and frameworks.
- Highly developed written skills are vital for preparing complex briefings, submissions, and reports, as well as developing communication materials for various channels
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively under pressure, handle competing priorities, and meet strict statutory deadlines while analysing complex issues.
- Experience in identifying privacy risks and developing sustainable, defensible strategies to mitigate those risks.
Must have
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience is required in investigating and managing privacy complaints and breaches under either the Commonwealth or Queensland privacy frameworks.
Desirable
- Experience in working for government
