This position balances high-level supervision with technical execution. The ideal candidate will spend approximately 70% of their time on the shop floor and 30% in an office capacity handling clerical and administrative duties.
Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 (commensurate with experience).
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).
Travel: While primarily based in Burlington, the ability to support international equipment installations is a significant asset.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision: Provide direct oversight of daily shop operations, assigning work and adjusting priorities to ensure production schedules are met.
Hands-on Machine Building: Actively participate in the fabrication, assembly, and commissioning of large vacuum furnace systems.
Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret complex blueprints and schematics to determine efficient work paths.
Administrative Oversight: Manage time-tracking, coordinate payroll input for shop employees, and collaborate with engineering for build reviews.
Safety & Maintenance: Enforce OHSA and WSIB compliance while performing preventative maintenance on plant equipment and facilities.
Qualifications
Experience: 10–15 years in machine building or manufacturing, with at least 5–10 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in welding (MIG/TIG), basic machining (lathes, plasma cutters), and mechanical assembly.
Systems Knowledge: Strong mechanical aptitude in hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and heavy equipment rigging.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform heavy mechanical work, including lifting up to 60 lbs.
Certifications (Assets): Crane, forklift, scissor lift, or specialized welding tickets (FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, 433A).
