Randstad Student Support are recruiting for Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Workers to work with autistic students studying at Universities and/or Colleges
...The role is set to start soon and is a hybrid role. All successful candidates must be able to travel to the local University or college and flexibly offer both in person and online sessions to meet student preferences.
As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you will provide learning support and academic guidance. This includes creating an individual learning plan tailored to the student's needs that encourages them to become an independent learner.
As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you are required to support students to:
Develop independence
Build on strengths and learning strategies
Create strategies around organisation and time management
Create action plans to stay on track with studies
Build on research skills - widening knowledge by using a variety of sources
Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing
Whilst working for Randstad the needs of individual students should be considered case by case and you should ensure that any concerns are addressed in a timely manner. It is expected that you would act professionally and maintain confidentiality within your role at all times, sharing all relevant information with Randstad to ensure the best possible service to your students.
Requirements for the role:
As this is a specialist role, you must have the correct qualifications and training. All students you will be supporting are funded by the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) meaning all candidates providing this role must adhere to the qualification framework set out by the DfE.
Candidates must be qualified to undergraduate degree level (level 6 as minimum), have a teaching qualification AND have taken extensive training in adult autism.

Desirable skills include:
Experience of working with autistic clients
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths whilst maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship
Punctuality and reliability
Good organisational skills
Ability to manage a caseload of students
