key responsibilities
- Organize and optimize sea and inland waterway solutions for various commercial files, with a strong focus on efficiency.
- Ensure all maritime operations strictly comply with current environmental and waste legislation as well as internal quality standards.
- Manage transport costs, conduct sharp price negotiations for routes, and ensure accurate invoicing.
- Identify opportunities to automate transport flows and elevate 'operational excellence' to the next level.
- Maintain close contact with internal departments and external partners to build sustainable collaborations.
- Collaboratively manage the logistical mailbox and provide backup for road transport coordination when necessary.
qualifications
- You have at least 5 years of experience in an international transport environment, preferably with expertise in maritime shipments.
- You are a natural 'caller' who proactively uses the phone to keep things moving and force solutions.
- You are result-oriented, think out-of-the-box, and take full ownership of your projects and schedules.
- You are fluent in Dutch and English; proficiency in French is considered a strong asset.
- You are proficient in MS Office and preferably have experience working with ERP systems.
