Randstad CEO Jacques van den Broek will be a featured speaker today at the 2016 edition of the Web Summit, which is taking place in Lisbon (November 7-10). In the morning, in a roundtable session moderated by the Randstad CEO, the focus will be on the impact of the digital world on the labor market. In the afternoon, his presentation will zoom in on Randstad’s strategy: tech and touch, a digital journey. Randstad’s current transformation process has been fueled by disruptive market changes caused by technological innovation. In this context, the work of the Randstad Innovation Fund (RIF) will be discussed, as well as Randstad’s vision of the future. On the second day, there will be two workshops, the first of which will focus on RIF and the second on the importance of good HR policy at startups.

It is the first time that what has become known as ‘Davos for Geeks’ is held in Portugal. Randstad will be present with a special brand activation campaign, with the aim of helping Web Summit participants make their professional dreams come true, either by setting up their own startup company or by finding the perfect new job. Participants are invited to step into Randstad’s elevator, have a cup of coffee, and make their ‘dream elevator pitch’. They can pitch their project in a two-minute video or highlight their special skills and passions that will help them get their dream job.

The full program is available here.

With more than 50,000 confirmed participants to date, the Web Summit is one of Europe’s most important events in technology, entrepreneurship and innovation. It is expected that hundreds of speakers will give a presentation, which will be followed closely by business leaders, entrepreneurs and representatives of some 15,000 companies from 165 countries. The Portuguese capital will also be hosting the 2017 and 2018 editions of the event.
