Job Purpose:
To lead and oversee all operational aspects of the aluminium extrusion plant, ensuring smooth coordination among production, maintenance, die tooling, and planning departments. The AGM is responsible for achieving production targets, maintaining product quality, ensuring equipment uptime, and optimizing resource utilization to maximize plant efficiency and output.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Production Management
- Lead the production department to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly output targets.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets.
- Monitor overall plant performance and implement process improvements.
- Coordinate with quality assurance teams to minimize rejection and rework.
- Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and implement actions for improvement.
2. Maintenance Oversight
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Ensure availability and reliability of critical machinery (press, billet heaters, handling systems, etc.).
- Approve maintenance plans and review breakdown analysis and corrective actions.
- Drive energy optimization and utility cost reduction initiatives.
3. Die & Tooling Management
- Ensure timely availability of extrusion dies as per production planning.
- Coordinate with die correction and die shop teams to minimize setup changeover time.
- Monitor die life, performance, and cost per kg extruded.
- Ensure optimal die inventory and reduce lead times for new die development.
4. Production Planning & Control
- Review and approve production plans based on sales forecast and order pipeline.
- Ensure alignment of raw material (billet) availability with extrusion schedules.
- Coordinate between planning, stores, and procurement to ensure timely resource availability.
- Optimize press utilization and press changeover efficiency.
5. People & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop department heads and their teams.
- Conduct regular review meetings and ensure interdepartmental coordination.
- Monitor manpower planning, training needs, and performance evaluations.
- Promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) norms.
6. Cost Control & Efficiency
- Identify and implement cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
- Monitor production cost per ton, energy consumption, and material yield.
- Reduce scrap and rejection rates through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
7. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with statutory and company policies.
- Prepare and present regular MIS reports on production, downtime, maintenance, efficiency, etc.
- Support audits (internal and external) and implement corrective actions.
8. Continuous Improvement
- Lead lean manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and other operational excellence initiatives.
- Encourage Kaizen, suggestion schemes, and innovation within the teams.
- Benchmark and adopt best practices from the industry.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering (Preferred)
- 12–18 years of experience in aluminium extrusion or similar manufacturing industries
- Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership role managing multiple departments
- Familiarity with ISO, TPM, and lean manufacturing systems
