Responsibilities
-BAU & Remediation: Lead efforts in reaching out to internal colleagues to gather essential documentation, chasing missing information, and ensuring full compliance with AML standards.
-Data Analytics & Automation: Utilize PowerBI and Excel to bridge the gap between raw data and actionable reporting; you will document logic and help automate manual processes to drive efficiency.
-Investigative Documentation: Conduct thorough investigations into transactions and entities, maintaining meticulous records and writing detailed reports for audit purposes.
-Stakeholder Management: Act as a key point of contact, leveraging your strong interpersonal skills to follow up with internal teams and present findings clearly.
-Performance Excellence: Maintain high standards of accuracy in reporting and documentation to meet monthly performance targets and audit requirements.
Qualifications
This role requires a candidate who is comfortable balancing administrative diligence with technical data analysis.
Must Haves:
-At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, specifically within a Financial Institution or Capital Markets environment.
-Proven experience with BAU functions and remediation projects.
-Advanced proficiency in PowerBI and Data Analytics (the ability to automate processes and document data logic).
-Deep understanding of Basic Securities types and Brokerage knowledge.
-Exceptional documentation, report writing, and investigative skills with a high attention to detail.
-Prior experience working with Audits.
-Strong communication skills to effectively "chase" documentation and collaborate across departments.
Nice to Haves:
-Technical background in data science or advanced reporting logic.
-Previous experience in a Compliance or AML-specific role within a large bank.
Summary
This AML Business Analyst III position is a contract opportunity starting ASAP and running through end of October 2026.
The work model is Hybrid, based out of downtown Toronto office. You will be required to be onsite 4 days per week (currently 3 days due to spacing, but transitioning to 4), with Wednesday serving as a mandatory anchor day. The schedule is a standard Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
