APS 5 Intranet Officer
- Location: Geelong & Richmond (Hybrid working arrangements)
- Contract Length: 6-month contract with extensions highly likely

About the Role
As an APS5 Intranet Officer, you will join a dynamic internal communications team during a period of significant change as the agency redevelops its intranet. You will play a pivotal role in supporting various business areas to maintain, update, and improve content across the agency’s internal platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Development & Publishing: Support the development, copy editing, and publishing of high-quality intranet content via SharePoint Online, ensuring alignment with internal strategies and plain English standards.
- Accessibility & Compliance: Ensure all web content strictly conforms to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (at least AA level).
- Author Support & Training: Advise, train, and support an internal network of online content authors on intranet best practices, style guidance, and accessibility.
- Service Desk & Triage: Manage incoming support requests through a service desk, actioning or triaging technical and procedural requests to relevant team members.
- Project Contribution: Actively support and contribute to the broader redevelopment and rollout of the agency's new internal communications platform.
- Performance Reporting: Assist in evaluating and reporting on intranet channel performance for key internal audiences.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a combination of the following essential and desirable skills:
- Writing & Editorial Excellence: Strong writing skills with experience applying plain language, clear structures, and content standards in a corporate or government environment.
- Audience & Tone Adaptation: Ability to write for diverse audiences and adapt tone and style to drive engagement.
- Digital Content & CMS: Experience creating and managing digital content using platforms like SharePoint Online, alongside an understanding of user experience (UX) principles.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders, resolve complex enquiries, and provide tactical advice.
- Accessibility Knowledge: Solid understanding of digital accessibility requirements, inclusive communication, and WCAG standards.
- Workflow & Change Support: Strong task management skills with experience using workflow tools (e.g., Jira) and supporting communication/change for new systems or redeveloped platforms.
