Your New Company/Role:
As a well established organisation, my client is looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant (with great exposure across the accounts payable function) to join their team on a permanent full time basis. The role is to be based in their Western Sydney office. Onsite parking is provided.
This role is to work within the finance team to ensure the accounts payable function is running smoothly and provides general accounting support, including supplier statement reconciliations, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and assistance with month-end reporting and other finance-related tasks.
About the Opportunity / Responsibilities:
Reporting to a nurturing Finance Manager; you are responsible for
- Process approximately 500 supplier invoices per month accurately and within required timeframes.
- Process weekly subcontractors payment after all the checks and approvals are done
- Match purchase orders, delivery dockets and documentation, and invoices, resolving discrepancies where required.
- Prepare supplier payment runs and respond to supplier account enquiries.
- Perform regular supplier statement reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and other month-end accounting procedures.
- Support the finance team with general accounting, reporting, and administrative duties.
- Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit requirements.
- Liaise with project managers, site personnel, suppliers, and other internal departments to resolve financial queries.
- Contribute to process improvements and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Other ad hoc duties as and when required
Ideal Profile
This opportunity is for someone who has experience within the accounts payable domain. You will also bring:
- Diploma or Bachelors in Accounting & Finance/equivalent qualification or relevant work experience
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential
- Prior experience in ERP systems would be highly desirable or exposure to construction industry experience would be advantageous
- Intermediate Excel skill
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Benefits
