Job Title: Banksman / Traffic Marshal
Location: Birchington-on-Sea, Kent
Contract Duration: 3 - 4 Months (Temporary)
Pay Rate: £15.00 - £17.00 per hour (dependent on experience and pay type)
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and attentive Banksman / Traffic Marshal for a 3 to 4-month temporary contract on a site based in Birchington, Thanet.
This role is key to maintaining site safety, managing delivery traffic, and directing heavy plant machinery on a busy development.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely directing all incoming and outgoing vehicle traffic, delivery HGVs, and site plant machinery.
- Guiding machine operators and drivers during reversing and maneuvering in tight or high-risk areas.
- Managing site access gates and ensuring pedestrians and public safety near site entrances.
- Communicating clearly with site managers and drivers using standard hand signals or two-way radios.
- Assisting with general site gatehouse duties, signing visitors in, and ensuring site safety protocols are strictly followed.
Requirements
- Valid Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman Card (CPCS, NPORS, or recognized accredited ticket essential).
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis vest/jacket, steel toe-cap boots).
- Strong communication skills and a firm approach to health & safety procedures.
- Previous experience acting as a banksman on active construction or civil sites.
- Right to work in the UK.
Working Hours & Benefits
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (40-45 hours per week).
- Duration: 3 to 4 months of steady, continuous work.
- Pay Rate: £15.00 - £17.00 per hour (paid weekly via CIS, Umbrella, or PAYE).
