My client, an industry leading civil engineering firm are looking for an experienced Civil's Construction CRE to join their expanding team in Wakefield.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Ensure all civil engineering work complies with Network Rail standards, Eurocodes, and relevant legislation (such as the CDM Regulations 2015).
- Reviewing the design for buildability and ensuring the site team understands the design intent.
- Manage and resolve technical queries between the site team and the designer when site conditions differ from the plan.
- Review and sign off on WPPs and Task Briefing Sheets (TBS) to ensure the engineering methodology is safe and effective.
- Review and approve ITPs, ensuring that all necessary checks and "Hold Points" are identified and signed off during construction.
- Coordinate with the Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to ensure that temporary structures (like scaffolding or cofferdams) do not compromise the permanent works or rail safety.
- Carry out regular site visits to verify that work is being delivered according to the approved drawings and specifications.
- Identify, record, and resolve any non-conformances in the civil works.
- Participate in Inter-Disciplinary Checks (IDC) to ensure civils work doesn't clash with other disciplines like Signaling, OLE (Overhead Line Equipment), or Track
- Acts as a technical mentor for site engineers and section engineers.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Civils Construction CRE on large infrastructure projects
- 5+ years experience working in the Rail sector on Civils projects
- Geotech/earthworks experience
- Knowledge of PACE/GRIP
- Degree qualified
- PTS
