Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation: Set up and operate CNC VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) and HBM (Horizontal Boring Machine) to perform complex machining operations on heavy workpieces.
Programming & Setup: Read and interpret technical drawings. Input or modify G-codes and M-codes to ensure the machine follows the correct tool paths and sequences.
Quality Control: Conduct first-off inspections and periodic checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges) to ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
Tooling Management: Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and fixtures. Monitor tool wear and replace components as necessary to maintain production efficiency.
Maintenance: Perform routine daily maintenance on machines to ensure operational safety and prevent downtime in the heavy machine shop environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience: 4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in a Heavy Machine Shop environment.
Technical Expertise: * Proven expertise in operating VTL and HBM machines.
Strong command of G-code and M-code programming and troubleshooting.
Ability to handle large-scale, heavy-duty components with precision.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to workshop safety standards.
