Primary Responsibilities: The consultant will work under the close supervision of the CSR Lead and work on assigned tasks that include,
but may not be limited to:
Program Planning and Development
- Conceptualize, evaluate, and recommend high-impact WAL initiatives aligned with corporate priorities, India’s national indicators,
SDGs, and sectoral best practices.
- Develop programs based on thorough research and best in class benchmarking.
- Ensure that CSR programmes are innovative and scalable.
- Support long-term program roadmaps and multi-year planning for WAL interventions.
Program Implementation and Partnership Management
- Manage, design, plan, and implement CSR programs in the areas of water management, agriculture development, and livelihood
generation.
- In some cases, drive partner selection, due diligence, onboarding, negotiations, and performance management of implementing
agencies and ensure seamless delivery of the programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with local government officials, NGOs, and key stakeholders to ensure programs address relevant
community needs.
- Support plant/zone teams with program scale-up in their respective areas.
- Ensure timely execution of programs as per agreed plans, budgets, and timelines.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Provide oversight of on-ground program execution through structured monitoring systems and field reviews.
- Lead periodic programmatic and financial reviews with partners to track performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor program outcomes against defined targets and recommend mid-course corrections as required.
- Support impact measurement, learning, and documentation of program outcomes to demonstrate program effectiveness and value
creation.
Documentation, Reporting and Compliance
- Ensure strong governance of CSR programs in line with CSR regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards.
- Maintain comprehensive program documentation, including financial and non-financial records.
- Lead internal reporting for WAL programs and contribute to global CSR and sustainability reporting requirements.
- Lead coordination for internal, statutory, and third-party audits, including closure of audit observations. Lead water credits assurance
processes and oversee third-party water audits to validate program efficacy and compliance.
- Lead AWS audits, focusing on catchment-related standards to advance certification.
Communication and Reporting
- Develop strategies to communicate CSR initiatives to internal and external audiences.
- Create materials that raise awareness about company’s social commitment and impact.
- Assist in preparing annual reports and other required documentation.
Qualifications & Desired Competencies:
Education and Experience
Masters degree in social sciences or equivalent field
6+ years of relevant experience in corporate social responsibility specially water interventions
Experience managing program budgets exceeding 10 crore rupees
Knowledge and Skills
Understanding of CSR Law, national level indicators, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Knowledge of India's nonprofit landscape and current trends
Sound understanding of the water, agriculture and livelihoods thematic area
Ability to advise on effective engagement with nonprofit organizations
Experience in program design, metrics, outcome measurement, and evaluation
