Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers using financial statements, credit reports, and industry data.
- Set credit limits based on internal risk policy and external credit data.
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to reduce credit risk.
- Coordinate with the sales team to support business growth while maintaining credit discipline.
- Lead the collection efforts and ensure overdue receivables are followed up effectively.
- Review aging reports and take appropriate actions to minimize bad debts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of credit approvals, collections, and customer communications.
- Collaborate with external agencies (like credit rating agencies) when needed.
- Prepare monthly reports on credit performance and present to management.
- Train and mentor junior credit staff, if applicable.
