Are you a natural problem-solver with a background in banking or finance? We are looking for a Dispute Resolution Specialist to join a Melbourne team on a contract basis. You will play a vital role in resolving disagreements between bank customers and their financial providers.
In this role, you aren’t just processing paperwork; you are an independent thinker who reviews the facts, talks to both sides, and helps reach a fair conclusion.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesCase Management: Review unresolved complaints regarding banking products (savings accounts, personal loans, credit cards, and mortgages).
Fact-Finding: Work closely with both customers and banks to gather evidence and understand the root cause of the dispute.
Negotiation: Use your communication skills to facilitate negotiations and help parties reach a voluntary agreement.
Assessment: For cases that can't be settled via negotiation, you will conduct formal investigations and write clear, "Plain English" reports explaining your findings.
Technical Application: Apply banking industry codes of practice and legal principles to ensure outcomes are fair and consistent.
Banking Expertise: Experience working within financial services, banking, insurance or professional complaint handling.
Strong Investigation Skills: You know how to ask the right questions and spot the information needed to form a view.
Communication: Exceptional written skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in simple terms.
Resilience: You are comfortable managing difficult conversations and can remain empathetic while staying neutral.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using CRM systems (like Dynamics365).
