Job SummaryThe Engineering Technician supports engineering teams by performing technical tasks related to product design, documentation, and change management. This role involves entering Engineering Change Notice (ECN) data, maintaining organized document filing systems, and assisting engineers in daily operations. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical engineering background, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills to interface effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform Engineering Change Notice (ECN) data entry and ensure accuracy and completeness of change documentation.
- Maintain engineering document control—including drawings, specifications, and revisions—in accordance with company standards.
- Support engineers in daily activities, providing technical assistance during design reviews, testing, and product updates.
- Ensure that all engineering documents are properly filed, archived, and retrievable in both digital and physical formats.
- Track and report progress of engineering projects and document updates.
- Maintain familiarity with engineering drawings, CAD data, and mechanical component identification.
- Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure consistent information flow.
- Identify and suggest improvements in document management and data entry processes.
- Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with ECN systems, document control, and file management tools.
- Familiarity with CAD drawings and basic interpretation of engineering schematics.
- Experience with PLM or ERP systems (e.g., Teamcenter, ProAlpha, or similar) is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a regulated or documentation-driven industry (medical device, automotive, or industrial manufacturing).
- Familiarity with quality systems and document traceability requirements.
