The Fixed Asset Specialist is responsible for the full lifecycle management of the company’s tangible and intangible assets. This role ensures that all capital expenditures are accurately recorded, tracked, and depreciated in accordance with GAAP/IFRS and tax regulations. You will serve as the bridge between Operations and Finance, ensuring the balance sheet reflects the true physical and fiscal state of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Lifecycle Management: Record all acquisitions, disposals, and transfers in the Fixed Asset Ledger.
Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Oversight: Review and process purchase orders and invoices to ensure proper classification between expense and capital.
Depreciation & Amortization: Calculate and post monthly depreciation runs; manage useful life adjustments and impairment testing.
Reporting & Reconciliation: Reconcile the Fixed Asset subsidiary ledger to the General Ledger (GL) monthly.
Physical Verification: Coordinate periodic physical audits and "wall-to-wall" inventories to ensure asset existence and tag accuracy.
Tax & Compliance: Prepare schedules for property tax filings, tax depreciation (MACRS), and assist with internal/external year-end audits.
