SAFETY, SUSTAINABILITY & COMPLIANCE:
- Ensures SAFETY First - To ensure adherence to all safety and compliance policies/procedures/systems of the company - (C.A.R.E – Commit, Access, Recognize, Encourage) program to actively promoting a safe culture. To be overall in charge of the factory and hold self and others accountable.
- To commit, comply, support the Simplot Sustainability Strategy and work towards achieving the sustainability targets of the company.
- Continuously ensures to train the team in relation to all safety issues & to manage manufacturing operations considering safe working environment.
- To drive performance through leadership that ensures all products manufactured/distributed by the unit are safe, meets all regulatory requirements, are manufactured in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) plus Simplot Quality Standards, and meet the quality expectations of the customers.
- To manage and direct operations in accordance with all central and state employment/labour laws/Acts, food & quality safety regulations/certifications, environmental permits/regulations, occupational health & safety regulations, and other pertinent regulations/laws of the land. To direct the department Managers to deliver and maintain effective & compliant programs. To monitor and ensure those programs are in place and its administration is consistent and equitable.
- Ensures human safety as priority & ensure that all members wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE).
MANUFACTURING ACTIVITIES:
- To lead the development, implementation and maintenance of the principles, policies, and procedures in manufacturing, to drive consistency, efficiency, and growth.
- To build and drive the cultural change for 100% employee engagement and a mindset of zero safety incidents, zero defects, zero non-conformances, zero-litigations and zero losses.
- To establish, develop, direct, implement, analyse, manage, and monitor the strategic & operational plans i.e., short, and long-term plans (3,5- and 10-year plans) and budgets including capital/operational/manpower budget/forecast to achieve the business goals in alignment with the company vision.
- Responsible to translate strategies into specific financial and operational objectives/goals and to ensure those objectives/goals are consistently met. To review/control operational/capital/manpower expenses within the unit and evaluate labour, equipment, and inventory to meet operational needs of the factory.
- To direct, manage and maintain the overall operations with consistent production as per plans/requirements to assure the facility achieves the required volume, grade yield, cost and quality as set standards & processes laid down in each area by the Division’s management direction. Ensure seamless coordination within manufacturing departments.
- To manage the design process, implementation, and maintenance of operational equipment to meet complex requirements (short term, long term, and turnaround). To identify vulnerabilities, minimize risks and create contingency plans. To coordinate preventative maintenance and electrical instrument repair in all departments and ensures site equipment reliability.
- To direct and manage the negotiations of labor contracts and participate in relations activities to maintain a stable and productive work force.
- Manages & implements wastage/scrap management.
- Ensures to address/resolve/review and action on reports for any operational/transactional issues/concerns/observations or areas highlighted during internal/external/ Global audits/inspections to improve overall productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
