We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Head Finance to join our team in Kolkata, West Bengal. This full-time position is crucial for driving our financial strategy and ensuring robust financial management within the steel industry.
Tasks
- Formulate and execute financial strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Prepare yearly budgets, multi-year plans, financial forecasts, dashboards, and variance analysis.
- Support strategic decision-making through financial modeling and business case evaluation.
- Oversee accounting operations and ensure timely closure of financial books.
- Present monthly and annual financial results to the management team.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), working capital cycles, and profitability.
- Manage stock ageing, slow mover analysis, AR ageing & provisioning.
- Oversee trade finance activities including LCs, BGs, and Bonds.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and trade finance instruments.
- Ensure compliance with group treasury policies and manage forex exposure.
- Optimize collections, receivables, payables, and inventory.
- Oversee credit management and credit insurance.
- Conduct cost and margin analysis across product lines and customer segments.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, etc.
- Coordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits.
- Handle corporate filings and liaise with legal advisors.
- Manage super key controls.
- Identify financial, operational, and administrative risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure proper insurance coverage for assets, people, and operations.
- Lead finance, accounts, compliance, and IT teams, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
Skills
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CMA, or MBA (Finance).
- 12–18 years of experience in finance and taxation, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of B2B steel trading, product leasing services, commodity pricing, credit risk, and logistics.
- Proficiency in financial strategy, planning, and management.
- Expertise in financial reporting and analysis.
- Solid experience in treasury and working capital management, including trade finance instruments.
- Proven ability in cost control and margin management.
- In-depth knowledge of compliance, taxation, and audit procedures.
- Skilled in risk management and mitigation strategies.
