Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day labor relations, serving as the primary liaison for unionized and non-unionized staff.
• Lead the full talent management lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
• Oversee employee experience initiatives to maintain high morale and retention within the Calgary facility.
• Administer benefits and pension programs in collaboration with external providers like Sun Life and Mercer.
• Ensure compliance with provincial labor laws and internal corporate policies within the human resources framework.
• Utilize Workday and Dayforce systems to maintain accurate employee records and generate HR reports.
• Support the leadership team in the Americas by managing local HR operations autonomously.
• Facilitate the transition of HR duties and support upcoming negotiations and strategic projects.
Qualifications
• Proven expertise in labor relations and navigating collective agreements in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in human resources information systems (HRIS), specifically Workday and Dayforce.
• Strong autonomy and the ability to work independently in a "solitary" HR role.
• Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively within an international corporate environment.
