Port & ; Dock Operations
Supervise and manage all loading and unloading activities of imported raw pulses at ports.
Monitor and verify cargo condition, container status, and vessel discharge/loading details.
Ensure all port operations comply with safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines relevant to food products.
Import Coordination
Lead the import process of raw pulses, including documentation, customs clearance, and statutory compliance.
Work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, port authorities, and other external stakeholders to ensure timely cargo release.
Manage import permits, bills of lading, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other required documentation.
Stakeholder Engagement
Coordinate with Clearing & Handling Agents (CHA) for efficient documentation and release procedures. Serve as the primary point of contact for shipping lines, port terminals, and logistics service providers.
Communicate daily with internal teams (supply chain, quality, warehouse, production) to align import schedules with production demands.
Quality & ; Compliance Assurance
Ensure imported cargo meets company quality standards and regulatory requirements before dispatch to the processing unit.
Maintain food safety compliance related to imported material handling at ports and during transportation.
Reporting & Process Improvement
Prepare and maintain detailed reports on port activities, import status, and operational metrics.
Identify and propose operational improvements to reduce delays and increase efficiency.
Troubleshoot and escalate issues promptly to minimize disruptions. Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, International Trade, or related discipline preferred.
Minimum 2-5years of experience in import operations, port handling, and documentation in international trade.
Strong understanding of customs procedures, shipping documentation, and port compliance for food imports.
Should own two-wheeler with Valid license.
Knowledge of pulse commodity handling is an advantage.
Excellent communication Hindi & English, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and logistics documentation systems.
