We are seeking two Level 2 Support Engineers for 6-month contracts based on-site in Whangarei. If you are currently based in Auckland and open to relocating north for a change of pace, this is a fantastic opportunity. As a dedicated Windows 11 migration support engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth transition for end-users by providing robust post-migration support. You will act as the primary technical escalation point for the floorwalking team, resolving complex technical issues and helping employees seamlessly navigate the new Windows 11 ecosystem.
Key Duties
- On-Site Support: Act as the primary technical escalation point for floorwalkers, walking the office floor to assist users face-to-face with setup problems and system inquiries.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Resolve complex, hard-to-solve hardware, network, login, and Microsoft 365 application issues.
- Triage & Escalation: Effectively triage critical problems and escalate complex, unresolved issues to the squad Tech Lead.
- Tool Management: Utilize enterprise management systems like Microsoft Intune and PowerShell to troubleshoot technical issues and push software updates.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience: Commercial experience in IT desktop support or system administration.
- Technical Stack: Strong, hands-on proficiency administering Windows 10/11, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, and Azure.
- Communication: Exceptional people skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor. You must feel comfortable approaching busy staff and translating technical steps into simple, easy-to-understand terms.
- Qualifications: Relevant IT certifications or a computer science degree are highly preferred.
- Location & Relocation: We are actively targeting Auckland-based candidates who are willing to relocate to Whangarei for the 6-month duration. You must be able to work 100% on-site.
Please Note: Because this is a short-term contract, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship. We can only process applications from candidates who are currently based in New Zealand and hold a valid work visa, residency, or citizenship. If you are currently overseas without existing work rights, we unfortunately cannot assist you with this specific role.
