about the job
As the Lead Electrical Engineer, you will serve as the core technical authority for the physical power infrastructure and heavy electrical systems of our major utility-scale assets. Based at our headquarters with required travel to project sites, you will drive the full project lifecycle, from concept and detailed engineering through to procurement, construction, and final commissioning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Detailed Engineering & Design: Leading the preparation, review, and approval of comprehensive electrical design documentation, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Cable/Load Schedules, Equipment Layouts, Earthing & Lightning Protection Systems, and Trench/Tray Layouts.
- Power System Studies: Performing, reviewing, and validating critical power system analyses—including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and relay settings—utilizing ETAP (or equivalent software).
- Project Lifecycle & Compliance: Overseeing electrical equipment specifications, vendor submissions, and technical procurement evaluations. You will also oversee site installation, witness FATs/SATs, and support energization, ensuring strict compliance with national grid interconnection requirements, local utility regulations, and international IEC standards.
- Professional Endorsement: Undertaking professional review, certification, and endorsement duties for engineering designs where legally permissible for registered professional engineers.
To be successful, you must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, and strong proficiency in both ETAP and AutoCAD. Extensive experience with medium/high-voltage substations, utility-scale solar PV, or national grid infrastructure is highly advantageous. Active registration as a Professional Engineer with relevant local statutory engineering boards will be a significant advantage.
about the manager/team
You will step into a pivotal leadership position, directly managing, mentoring, and allocating work for a dedicated team of electrical engineers, designers, and drafters. You will be responsible for their technical growth, resource planning across multiple projects, and ensuring the absolute accuracy and quality of their engineering deliverables. Beyond leading your internal design team, this is a highly collaborative role; you will partner closely with Project Managers, secondary engineering peers, and site execution teams. Externally, you will act as a key technical representative for the company, driving high-level technical coordination with national grid operators, regulatory authorities, consultants, and equipment vendors to ensure seamless grid interconnection.
